Have you seen it happen? Someone at work conducts a transaction "under the table;" a co-worker stole company supplies; a manager engaged in unethical practice to get a litte bit ahead; a colleague took advantage of somebody; an influencer organized a tight gossip group intending to terminate a fellow employee. These situations occur far too often.
As an entrepreneur, executive, supervisor, or business manager, you have an impact on the way your company operates. You can become actively involved in cultivating ethical business practices based on Biblical principles. This is a particularly intense calling for Christians in business, when compounded by their baptismal call to deliver God's message of grace and salvation.
Founded in April, 2008,
Lutheran Entrepreneurs is a business networking organization devoted to
witnessing the Gospel as opportunities arise,
modeling Christian principles to future generations of managers and entrepreneurs, and
inspiring colleagues to operate their businesses on an elevated level of integrity.
Lutheran Entrepreneurs meets from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. on third Wednesdays at the Chapel Coffee House, south of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd in Lakewood. Feel free to visit or join if you are not a Lutheran. Annual membership is $25, or you may pay a $5 meeting fee for unlimited visits. There is no charge for your first visit.
Come early to network and buy a snack or beverage at the refreshment counter. Meetings open with a devotion and a prayer, lead by a member of the group. Everybody gets a minute to tell the others about their business, then a member or guest speaker will make a presentation. Be sure to bring along a handful of your business cards.
The next meeting will be on October 21st. Our speaker will be CPA Denise Rolfsmeier. See the YourHub
event announcement, and the
October newsletter.
