Jean Brodie and Kris Iltis, both Colorado artists, will be showing their work for the month of September at 45 Degrees Custom Framing & Gallery through October 6th.
Imagery of nature, still lifes of everyday objects, and relaxing outdoor adventures are what Jean paints with a masterful and unique hand. Her paintings give the feeling of lazy summer and fall afternoons spent outside enjoying the earth. The soft and blended colors of nature are well represented with her medium, watercolor. While their subjects are similar in some ways, the mediums both artists choose to work with give their paintings a very different feel. Kris Iltis prefers to work in oils and pastels which give her paintings an expressive and dramatic statement. She uses contrasting colors to create a bold visual focus.
