Sandra Van Dam and Sally Jordon
Contributed by: Cindy Navarrete on 10/25/2006

2nd Friday on November 10th at 45° Custom Framing & Gallery marks our 1st year anniversary. We will celebrate this mementos occasion by bringing 2 new artists, Sandra Van Dam and Sally Jordan, into the gallery through December 1st.
Sandra Van Dam is a painter/drummer who loves bright, pure colors. Her first impression of a scene are the colors, and then the shapes the colors take. Sandra's focus is not to be realistic, but to bring out the abstract, and let her inner eye lead her. She has been a musician all of her life, then began painting in earnest in 1997. She studied with Chuck Ceraso, Louisville, Colorado, for 2 years, working with pastels and learning how to see like an impressionist. She is attending Front Range Community College in Westminster. Sandra has studied with Lydia Brokaw-Nelson, Homare Ikeda. She also studied drawing and painting with Polly Chang. Sandra is an active member of the Colorado Artists Guild, one of the oldest artists' groups, founded in 1928.
Sally Jordan has had a love affair with art for as long as she can remember, loving to be immersed in creating and appreciating all types of art. She is especially inspired by the beauty and awe of nature. Sally concentrates on the stillness, sheer force and power of nature, most things we all miss if we don't really look or listen. She also teaches art, and reminds her students that artists see things differently. Because of this, we can all know how beautiful the day, how wondrous the night, and appreciate all of the little things. Sally's art education includes Webster College, Southeast Missouri State University, and continuing with various Colorado and Arizona Universities. Her works are varied, using watercolor, acrylic, pen, pastel, batik, and mixed media. She is able to incorporate nature in her pieces with variety in every piece. Sally recently returned from Paris, and the South of France, with new inspiration. We can't wait to see what creations Sally will bring to her canvass!
Please join us at the Second Friday Reception, November 10th from 6p-9p. In addition to our gallery having a reception, other merchants and restaurants in the area will have events you can stop and see throughout the night. For more information, call 720-974-1771 or take a look at our new website 45degreesgallery.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
