The Jefferson County Library Foundation has announced the addition of two more character naming-rights to their Rare and Novel Night auction from award winning author
Annie Proulx
and local mystery writer
Robert Greer
.
The seventh annual social and charity event onApril 21 will allow guests to bid on the opportunity to name a character after themselves or anyone of their chosing in an upcoming novel from
Brokeback Mountain
author Annie Proulx. The book, now well-known for the movie that won three Oscars in 2006, is one of many Proulx has penned. She also wrote

, which won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
Robert Greer is an author of short stories and medical thrillers, living in Denver. Greer is a professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a specialist in head and neck pathology and cancer research. He is will known for the

series, the latest of which is
Resurrecting Langston Blue
.
Bidders at Rare and Novel Night will also have the chance to vie for character name-rights in upcoming books from authors
Sandra Brown

) and
Michael McGarrity

and
Everyone Dies
).
Other exciting auction items include a week-long yacht voyage in the West Indies, dinner for two at The Fort with transportation to and from the restaurant by helicopter, champagne breakfast hot air balloon ride for two, a slot in the National Western Stock Show's 2007 mutton bustin' event, speed racing in a Z28 Camaro at Bandimere Speedway and much, much more.
The evening includes a sit-down dinner, cash bar and live music. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jefferson County Library Foundation and the Traveling Children's Library, a service that brings books, programs and materials to needy children of Jefferson County. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on April 21 at the Lakewood Country Club, 6800 W. 10th Ave. in Lakewood.
