The hard working Edgewater Trash Department recently relieved the city of Edgewater of a lot of unwanted items during the June 2 & 3 clean-up event. However, we found that one person's junk is another's treasure (or reusable).
Edgewater residents had an opportunity to deposit their items into the following categories:
Recyclables
metals
Electronics
items still usable
junk
People seemed to really enjoy depositing their items in the different areas.
Cities routinely charge citizens to recycle electronics and computers, but Action Recycling, 7810 West 42nd Avenue, provided Edgewater citizens with a disposal solution for:
Scraps of metall
washing machines
fans
broken electronics
computers and monitors.
Action Recycling hauled two trucks full of metals. It was a great service to the city of Edgewater at no charge the residents.
We have a brighter, cleaner community because of the event, and managed to recycle about 15% of the total volume of 'junk'.
