Kempo First FoundationInternationally acclaimed storyteller and folk singer
Pat Mendoza will be performing two shows at the Kempo First Foundation on May 24, 2008.
The programs will be held in the Kempo First Foundation located at 5838 W. 25 th Ave in Edgewater.
The children's show (recommended for ages 5-10 years of age, with parents in attendance) starts at 1 PM. A second show for a general audiences starts at 8 PM.
Mendoza is a Denver native, martial artist, and former police officer, who has headlined the Colorado Storytelling Conference and worked in schools all over Colorado. He will be performing age appropriate programs from many cultures from around the world. Stories will be told and sung in English, Spanish, Cheyenne and Fijian.
Pat is performing as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Kempo First Foundation. This 501-C(3) non-profit organization has been a community service to Edgewater and the surrounding communities for over 11 years. It has been integral in teaching self-confidence, character and respect as well as self-defense to children and adults. The foundation is headed by retired Denver Firefighter,
Hanshi Ron Carlson. Hanshi has taught Defense and Arrest Control Tactics to Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies based on his fifty plus years in martial arts.

All proceeds will go to the Kempo First Foundation and are tax deductible.
