Spectacular Fireworks and Free Family Fun

The City of Arvada, Arvada Festivals Commission, KOOL 105 Radio and Apex Park and Recreation District (formerly North Jeffco) partner to bring you a day of family fun on Friday, July 4 to celebrate our Nation's Birthday featuring "Hot Times, Kool Cars" classic car show, a military display, live music, family entertainment, amusements, great food and a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display.

Arvada's fireworks show is over thirty years old and a full day of events begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex on W. 58 th Avenue at Oak St. just west of Kipling (parking lot opens at 2:00 pm).

Get ready to party with some great bands, provided by KOOL105 Radio and meet some of your favorite DJs at the KOOL105 booth. Rock to hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

· 3 - 5 p.m. Burgandy Brown

· 5 - 7 p.m. The Blue Stone Mojo Band

· 7 - 9 p.m. The Curtis James Band

At 9:00 pm, as the fireworks begin, KOOL 105 Radio will simulcast a collection of great oldies music as Stonebrakers Fireworks provides one of the biggest and best fireworks displays in the metro area.

Free family-friendly events throughout the afternoon and evening include:

· Kids' Park featuring an obstacle course, bungee run, big slide, face tattoos and more fun activities.

· Classic Car Show by Kool 105.

· The Arvada Police Department's "safety bug" Jessica on display.

· Child DNA kits offered by Arvada Citizen's Police Academy Alumni.

· Fire trucks and emergency vehicles on display from the Arvada Fire Protection District and Pridemark

· A military display.

· A midway with community booths and patriotic items for sale.

· Food and drinks concession stands and carts.

Parking Information

Lots open at 2:00 p.m. Parking is on a first come, first served basis.

Parking will be available off of Oak Street in the Lutz parking lot and in the Stenger complex parking lots.

Large recreation vehicles will be directed to a parking area in the Stenger complex.

No saving of parking spaces will be allowed. If you want to park by friends, you must arrive at the same time.

A handicapped parking area will be available.

No parking will be allowed on Kipling Street.

The intersection of Oak Street and W. 58th Avenue may close when lots are full

West 56 th Place from Kipling to Oak Court will close at 6 p.m.

Please remember alcohol, personal fireworks, and pets are NOT allowed in the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex. Personal fireworks laws will be strictly enforced. For more information and updates please contact Nancy Bentzen at (303) 421-5305) or call the Festivals Commission at (720) 898-7400.
