The Webby Awards, a leading international honor for Web sites, recently recognized the Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) Web site as an Official Honoree, a distinction given to sites exhibiting remarkable achievement.
Jefferson County Public Library is the only Colorado library to receive this prestigious honor in 2006.
The JCPL Web site was designed by members of the former Web Site Review Task Force and is now produced and managed by
Vicki Nichols
and
Deborah Hamel
, also members of the former taskforce.
The 10th Annual Webby Awards received a record number of entries from more than 40 countries and all 50 states. Out of the 5,500 plus entries submitted, fewer than 20 percent were deemed Official Honorees.
"The Web site was designed to be visually engaging with robust content, features and function," said Vicki Nichols. "It is easy to use and navigate for users of all ages, from novice to experienced."
