Angie's Place brings more than coffee to Edgewater
Contributed by: Erin Williams/YourHub.com on 4/3/2007

The coffee syrups are aligned on the cafe counter, placed neatly next to the espresso machines. The bakery goods are ready for the plucking and the chairs and couches are tucked into corners with games stacked under the tables.

Angie's Place finally opened March 30 to the anxious residents of Edgewater, who will have a cozy place to relax in the small city anytime they wish to stop by.

With views of Sloan's Lake, talk of the best chai tea in the area and a selection of Italian LavAzza coffee, Angie's Place is sure to be a popular destination.

"It's a prime spot to add this to the community," said Donovan Cline, co-owner of Angie's Place, which is located at 5224 W. 25th Ave. "It will bring a certain level of class to Edgewater."

Cline, who bought the empty space in January with Angie Feighert and Krista Turnage has been renovating the shop since, which used to be home to an antiques shop. Cline said he's only had three days away from the shop since he starting working on it, but smiles proudly when talking about the final outcome of Angie's Place.

Putting a lot of heart and soul into this project, the owners of Angie's Place thought of every detail to make their customers more comfortable when they visit. Free wireless Internet and a full menu including breakfast, pasteries, appetizers, lunch and dinner will soon be offered.

Since Angie's Place will also be open 24 hours a day starting sometime this summer, they will be able to accomodate the residents who seek a place to hang out during the late hours of night or wee hours of the morning.

"That's the schedule we're on," said Cline. "Not a lot of people cater to the nightlife."

With the main room of the shop finished, Cline said he plans on tackling the patio at the back of the restaurant in the next few weeks to accommodate customers who want to take advantage of the view of Sloan's Lake this summer. He also said he's planning on putting in a dog treat basin and water fountain for customers who want to bring their furry four-legged friends.

Feighert, whose restaurant in Edgewater closed two years ago, believes the location of this coffee shop will be more successful, because of foot traffic and prime spot across the street from Sloan's Lake. When asked why she decided to open another business in this city, especially after her first restaurant went under she said, "I just like Edgewater."

Angie's Place is also a part of the Colorado Sportbike Club - a motorcycle club that will begin and end their Sunday rides at the new coffee shop.

For more information about Angie's Place, stop by 5224 W. 25 th Ave. in Edgewater or call 303-233-2326.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

We are thrilled to have Angie back in the neighborhood. We live in Evergreen, and when she was on Colfax, we would drive all the way down to get a Chai and coffee. Welcome Back Angie! We love you!

It looks so cozy! What a great spot to hang out, and I'm sure people are going to love that it's open 24 hours -- not a lot of places are, when you get out of the heart of downtown.
