Jeffco Action Center is pleased to announce the election of five new members to its board of directors.
The five new board members are:
LaDawn Sperling
LaDawn Sperling is the Communications Specialist for the Newmont Mining Corporation. She has worked in the communications field for more than 10 years, notably with Olsson Associates in Lincoln, NE and was the Co-Director of the Nebraska Governor's Inaugural Ball Committee also in Lincoln, NE. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications from Doane College in Crete, NE. She also has a Master's Degree in Applied Communication, Public Relations Marketing from the University of Denver.
José A. Martinez
José A. Martinez is the Executive Director of School Management for Jefferson County Schools. Jose has worked in the education field for more than 25 years, working his way up from Spanish Teacher to Principal and now an Executive Director. He received a Bachelor degree in Education from Northern Colorado and a Master degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Colorado.
Theron J. Bell
Theron J. Bell currently provides consulting services to a variety of organizations in race relations, economic development, government, community relations and political participation. Theron has many years of experience within this field notably working for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and served on the Virginia Employment Commission. He has attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Mi with a focus in Business Administration. He also studied at the LaSalle Extension University in Chicago as part of their Business Management Program.
Allyson Gottsman
Allyson Gottsman first came onto Jeffco Action Center's Board in 2002 and was Board President from 2005 to 2007. It was during her tenure on the board, and through her initiative, that the Action Center adopted the "Raising More Money" Model (Benevon) for raising sustainable funding. With its focus on building relationships with passionate and committed lifelong donors, the number of Jeffco Action Center supporters grew and donations soared.
Allyson came off the Board in 2008 and returned this year.
Allyson is the Associate Director of Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (CCGC) and has been actively engaged in healthcare her entire career. The majority of her time has been spent in managing Primary Care Practices, followed by ten years in the private sector during which time she was one of the founders of ClearVision Laser Centers. She is also the Associate Director for the nonprofit Improving Performance In Practice (IPIP) initiative with Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (CCGC).
Daniel T. Moyer
Daniel T. Moyle, Jr. attorney, recently retired. After several years working in the public sector, Dan started a private practice firm in 1978, practicing general civil law from four different office locations in Jefferson County. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and former member of the American Bar Association. Dan received his Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Utah and his J.D. from the University of Michigan.

Jeffco Action Center, a human-services non-profit, provides an immediate response to basic human needs and promotes pathways to self-sufficiency through intervention, prevention and connection to essential services.
