Blog Entry 88 of 108 Charmaine in the city

I've called the Denver area home for more than two
decades now. But this urban/mountain city is still full of surprises. I'll be posting my adventures here, as I explore local eateries, shops and sharing birthday and vacation photos. And once in a while, I'll throw in a music, movie or food review. I hope to keep this blog interactive, so don't be shy to suggest places I should visit. And check it out: I'm on Brendan's List. Rock on!

Springing ahead a little earlier this year

It's time again to change our clocks for daylight-saving.

Early morning at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, will be the time for us to set our clocks forward one hour.

This change is coming in sooner since Congress passed the 2005 Energy Act, which starts daylight-saving one month earlier in the spring and one week later in the fall, beginning in 2007. Last year, daylight-saving time started on March 11.

Additionally, daylight-saving is a reminder to install new batteries in smoke detectors.

Standard time will resume on November 2.

Hi Charmaine. Yep, I made it up in time for church Sunday.

I don't know why we observe daylight savings time any more. It was a great idea when we were largely a farming nation, but now we have Wii, Windows Vista and Corner Gas. I want normalcy. No more of those dreaded weeks of dst-lag as I try to acclimate to the changes.
