Blog Entry 45 of 97 Charmaine in the city

I've called the Denver area home for more than two
decades now. But this urban/mountain city is still full of surprises. I'll be posting my adventures here, as I explore local eateries, shops and sharing birthday and vacation photos. And once in a while, I'll throw in a music, movie or food review. I hope to keep this blog interactive, so don't be shy to suggest places I should visit. And check it out: I'm on Brendan's List. Rock on!

It's Duke all the way
Contributed by: Charmaine Robledo/YourHub.com   on 3/13/2007

Update 3/16: Duke lost in the first round of the tournament to VCU. You can read about my disappointment here.

I used to keep track of college basketball a few years ago, mainly when Trajan Langdon was playing for Duke University. I thought he was so awesome, dubbed "The Alaskan Assassin," he would sink those three-pointers like nothing. I attempted basketball back in eighth grade, but the most I ever scored was two points with an accidental layup. That was for the whole season.

So it's time for March Madness once again and Eric is encouraging all of us to put together team brackets. I'm not much for predicting winners, but I decided to choose teams based on what I "knew" back then. My final four? Purdue, Duke, Georgetown and Texas A&M. My champ? Duke University. Go Blue Devils!

You can join in on the fun and create your own team bracket for free with the YourHub.com NCAA pool in Yahoo! I just did it earlier this afternoon and I can say it was painless. Want to know more? Read Eric's blog. And read Brendan's blog about picking his teams and see what his bracket looks like.

Click on the photo up top to see mine. Or click here to see it in its entire glory. You really can't read the team names, but the important thing to know is that Duke will win.

Thanks, Barbara. Tip-offs are today and I'm crossing my fingers that one or more of my teams actually make it in.

I'm not saying you're going to lose but perhaps you aren't going to win. :)
