Description:
We will start with a tour and brief history of the Lucas Homestead ruins. This hike is designed for the entire family. The round trip will be a little over 2 miles and mostly uphill to the Rim and downhill back to the parking area. Strollers will not work on sandy, rocky terrain; therefore little ones will either have to hike or be carried. You will travel through 4 ecosystems on your way to the top of the Rim. All ages are welcome. Meet Volunteer Naturalist Mike and Sonia Zipparo and their family at the Lucas Homestead Parking Lot on the Westside, accessed via HWY 86. Reserve your place on this hike by calling 303-688-5242.
The programs are free; however, please remember that all vehicles entering the park must either purchase a $6.00 daily pass or a $60.00 annual pass.
