I wouldn't have believed it myself, but after 14 total face sessions at Changes, the wrinkles around my forehead, eyes and mouth are practically gone. And the best part about it-there were no injections, surgeries or any other invasive procedures.
Ironically, I walked into Changes because I had heard about their firming/slimming treatments. One of those treatments, for instance, uses electrical stimulation to tighten and firm the muscles in the body. It never occurred to me that the same technology could be used to train the muscles in the face to stay lifted and toned.
What a thought! So I decided to try it for myself. When I went in for my first treatment, I pointed out the areas on my face that I wanted to work on most. Then they customized a treatment plan that would give me the best results.
The first treatment I had was isogei (pronounced i-so-j). They stuck little patches attached to wires all around my face. One by one, in a counter-clockwise direction, the muscles in my face contracted for a few seconds. I had to laugh out loud because the contractions distorted my face so much, I must have looked like I had a really bad twitch condition. How do I describe the way it felt? Hmm...weird, uncomfortable. Like when you hit your funny bone. As the treatment continued and I got used to the contractions, though, it actually wasn't so bad. The nice thing was, when isogei was over, I was home free! The rest of the session was a piece of cake.
Microgei (my-cro-j) was my next treatment. While moving a smooth instrument across different areas of my face, they created micro-stimulation to increase circulation in my skin and restore facial tissue. Unlike the last treatment, this one was quite relaxing, and I felt a slight tingling during the procedure. Ahh, then came the warm cloth and it was on to the next treatment, the most relaxing of all of them.
Flash Rejuvenation was so calming, I actually caught myself snoring during one of the sessions! In this procedure, they used different frequencies of light to stimulate cell renewal and production of collagen fibers, elastin and structural elements. When it was all over, the session ended with an incredible facial massage. I will admit, a total face session may not be quite as relaxing as getting a facial. But once you start seeing the results, it's easy to get addicted.
The number of sessions you need can vary depending on your particular goals. But it's important when you're starting out to go at least 2-3 times a week to train your muscles to "remember" their new position.
I started with a package of 13, and went three times a week until I used up my package. Then I went once a month to maintain the results. Individual sessions cost $100, but a variety of packages are available that include additional free treatments.
It may seem like a lot of money. But when you consider the cost of more invasive procedures, not to mention the risks they involve, this is an extremely viable option.
