Workshop for Women is Celebrating!
DENVER, Colo. - August 28, 2006 - Workshop for Women, LLC a woman owned company offering classes in basic home improvement skills for women is celebrating its one year anniversary on September 16, 2006 at their offices in Denver, CO.
According to a nationwide survey conducted by
Sears, Roebuck And Company, 85% of women surveyed expect to be solely responsible for a home at sometime in their lives and 70% of women homeowners say they would like to know more about home maintenance and repair. In fact, 63% of those homeowners would rather get an hour of free advice from Bob Vila than from Dr. Phil.
Workshop for Women, LLC is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for women to learn basic home improvement skills to use in their everyday lives. "The surroundings provided in the house make the whole experience very pleasant. The organization of the instructor, the materials, and the hands-on experience make the class the best of its kind I have ever taken," said Leslie, a student in the basic power tools class. "Listening to something and actually doing it are very different things."
After a year of offering classes at their location near Broadway and Alameda, interest continues to grow along with their class offerings. Workshop for Women actively supports Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver's Women Build program through both volunteer hours and financial contributions.
