Signature Dishes began online on April 16, 2006 and during its first four months has garnered 92,877 hits as viewers have flocked to the website. The Signature Dishes site is chock full of streaming video of local area non-chain, chef-driven restaurants as well as daytrip suggestions and local history videos. A restaurant's video shows the interior and theme of the restaurant and then takes a viewer into the kitchen where the chef makes the restaurant's signature dish.

David Court of consulting firm McKinsey says, "In the next 24 months, we will see demand for online advertising actually outstrip the supply."

"Small business owners must face the fact that the reach and effectiveness of print media is disappearing," said Stacy Williams, a search-marketing specialist who runs Prominent Placement Inc. in Atlanta. "As a small business owner, you have to at some point figure out how to promote yourself online."

"The forecasts for online ad spending just keep getting better and better, or at least the most recent one from JupiterResearch looks pretty good. Jup projects that online ad spending will reach $15.7 billion this year and $25.9 billion by 2011." - Media Research

"Within display advertising, while static ads will not grow, rich media and video ads will grow rapidly between 2009 and 2011," Emily Riley, advertising analyst at JupiterResearch said. She pegged 2009 as the year when "video will really take off."

Signature Dishes has emphasised growing its market share for the first 4 months of the site's existance. Mike and Julie Robinson, the Signature Dishes managers, have only accepted two advertisers in order to establish a proper business plan.
Signature Dishes charges advertisers 15 cents when people actually view their ads. Viewers can then "clickthrough" the display ad and learn more about the advertiser and watch a video of the advertiser's services and products. Signature Dishes creates a unique "url" so customers can go directly to the advertiser's video to watch it.

Signature Dishes is now ready to accept new advertisers. To make an appointment, prospective advertisers may call 303-688-0944 or by email to signaturedishesofcolorado@yahoo.com.
