Boutique for the soul offers uplifting experience
Contributed by: Anthonette Klinkerman on 6/24/2007

Your soul is crying out... to go shopping! I have never been much of a shopper, much to my husband's happiness and the credit card companies' dismay. Yet, when the need arises, I like to do it all in one place. NOT the mall, and NOT on-line.

Enter "A Boutique for the Soul". Besides being a teacher, I am also a small business owner. I found myself at a networking luncheon in May, and through the new contacts I made, I was introduced to Erin Seabold. This savvy businesswoman realized how many women entrepreneurs are out there, as well as women who own health and wellness practices, and she hit upon the notion of featuring them all in the same place.

The Boutique promises to celebrate "Love, Laughter and You", and it does exactly that. Now, men, don't get scared - you're welcome, too.

Recently I attended my first Boutique as a consumer, and was greeted at the door with a glass of wine. Always a good start to a shopping experience, in my opinion. It was held at the Relax the Back store in Lone Tree.

Each event, often held at Girls' Night Hours of 6 - 9, is catered. Delicious appetizers, provided by Party Stylings, included prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, blueberry and brie crostini, and some amazing cranberry-oatmeal-chip cookies. Wine and food? I was ready to spend some money.

I met first with Dr. Kelly Shockley, and her mom, Pat Shockley. Owners of Advanced Body Dynamics, they provide chiropractic services, muscle activation, and sports medicine. I had a stress test right there before they set to work on my neck.

Also featured were such home-based businesses as Arbonne Pure Swiss Skin Care and SendOutCards, an on-line greeting card service, my two personal favorites - ahem! (Yes, these are my two businesses.)

I also visited with Bonnie Sprague, a "sanctuary coach" who helps clients open their own body's channels to aide healing and handle stress. Who couldn't use this?

Beijo handbags, briefcases, and accessories caught my eye, as did the attractive Simply Yours handcrafted jewelry and sterling silver.

I spoke with the Aloha Melaleuca consultant, Susie Weisbrod, and found a variety of environmentally safe and effective cleaning products for the home.

Erin Seabold is thrilled with the explosive launch of "Boutique for the Soul", and is already nearly booked for the next two months. She is also delighted to be
associated with Dress for Success, an organization that provides new and gently worn suits, shoes, purses, and jewelry for women's professional image-assistance.

Vendors do not compete, and there is an inspiring feeling of camaraderie among the women there. None of that "circling vulture" sensation. Laughter really was a large part of the venue. Juice-Plus vendor Lisa Shultz was more than happy to talk with me for a few minutes, as was Arbonne consultant Sandra Grooms and SendOutCards distributor Dawn Evins.

Erin Seabold herself is a pleasure to talk with, and her support of all of these women's efforts is an example to all. Even better news? The boutiques can be held in-home if one prefers to just have the girlfriends over.

I am looking forward to attending three boutiques in July as a vendor. Consider taking Girls' Night to the next event, or get your business signed on. Either way, your soul will thank you for "shopping" by.

Visit www.boutique4thesoul.com. Ms. Seabold can be reached for more information on any of the above-mentioned merchants as they do change, or for upcoming dates and locations, at 303-814-8482.
