Contributed by: Leslie Horna on 9/29/2006

Linda Gray is flying high as international "Air Medical Crew Member of the Year." The Association of Air Medical Services will honor Linda Gray, Chief Flight Nurse for AirLife, on September 25 at the Air Medical Transport Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. AirLife is the Emergency Medical /Critical Care Transport Service of HealthONE hospitals and clinics; providing air and ground critical care transport for both adult and pediatric medical/ trauma patients.

The Medical Crew/Crew Member of the Year Award recognizes an individual/team that has made significant contributions to enhance the development or promote the improvement of patient care in the air medical transport community.

"Linda is by far the most humble, generous and intelligent nurse we have ever had the pleasure of working with, " said AirLife Program Director Jana Williams. "Personally, she exemplifies flight nursing at its best by partnering clinical excellence with strong personal relationships, a strong commitment to personal wellness, and personal growth--in other words--balance!"

Award judging was based on promotion or enhancement of patient care while maintaining safe and proper transport procedures (not putting themselves, any other crew members, or the patient at any risk), clinical expertise, and participation in community associations.
