January 8, 2008, Denver, CO - Your small, Denver-based business could win a complete brand and identity package worth up to $20,000. Nominations for Denver's annual Making the Brand™ contest will be accepted online at
www.denversmakingthebrand.com from January 1 through January 31, 2008.
The contest, presented by three independent marketing firms, is designed to educate small business owners about how a strong brand can contribute to, or even drive a company's success. Independent companies in the seven-county Denver metro area with fewer than 100 employees are eligible if they've been in business for at least a year, and you can nominate your own company if it meets the eligibility requirements.
The Grand Prize for 2008 is a brand and identity package worth approximately $20,000, which includes a comprehensive marketing review and plan; a full graphic design package, including logo, website, brochure, and stationery; content for the brochure and website, a tagline, and an elevator pitch. Other services, such as outdoor advertising, project management, printing, product photography, online video, and Search Engine Optimization are also included. Two runners up will receive a complimentary evaluation of their current brand and marketing collateral, valued at $795.
Beth Boen, owner of CreativeXchange Marketing (
www.creativexchangemarketing.com), says "The new year is a time for both reflection and excitement. Business owners are assessing how the previous year went and planning to make the upcoming year even more successful, so this is the perfect opportunity to assess your brand and marketing plans, and that's one reason we decided to run the contest in January."
Kandra Churchwell, owner and Creative Director of Phases Design Studio (
www.designfiles.net), says, "At the beginning of the year, business owners are thinking about securing the future of their companies, and we wanted to play a part in that by getting the word out about the power of a great brand. But since it's a celebratory time of year, we wanted to do something that would be fun, as well as educational for our small business community. So the contest fufilled both of these desires."
Three contest finalists will be announced on February 18, and the winner on February 25.
The winning entry will be chosen based on an assessment of the company's current brand by Contest Presenters Beth Boen of CreativeXchange Marketing (
www.creativexchangemarketing.com), Kandra Churchwell of Phases Design Studio (
www.designfiles.net), and
Travitt Hamilton of The Write Stuff (
www.travitthamilton.com). Complete details and rules are available at
www.denversmakingthebrand.com.
The winner and their new brand will be presented at a gala press event in June, 2008.
