FranNet Sees Growth in Demand for "Mobile Franchise" Concepts
Franchise consulting company is matching clients with businesses that actually make house calls.

There once was time when new franchise owners bought their franchise, then shopped for real estate to set up shop. Times have definitely changed. Now, 7% of franchises are considered "mobile" or vehicle-based, and that number is growing each year.

According to FranNet, the nation's premier network of franchise consultants, mobile franchises are in demand as business investments. FranNet's clients come to them to find the right franchise business to invest in, and many are asking specifically about mobile franchises.

Why the demand? Stacy Swift, a franchise consultant for FranNet Colorado explains, "The advantages of operating a mobile franchise are crystal clear to those who want them: lower overhead in most cases, hours that are flexible, fewer employees, and lots of customers."

Yes, lots and lots of customers. People today are looking for businesses that come to them. Customers are even willing to pay a premium for it. Swift says, "It's a sign of our fast-paced culture. Time is valuable and we simply don't want to be sitting in a waiting room or making an extra trip."

In addition, a certain set of the U.S. population is getting older and needs businesses to come to their homes. Senior citizens have come to rely on mobile businesses such as errand, handyman and senior assistance services.

FranNet Colorado notes that these and other mobile franchises are in the largest demand:

Mobile Pet Grooming
Americans spend over $38 Billion per year on their pets; over $2.5 Billion spent on grooming alone. Mobile pet grooming franchises bring the convenience of the grooming salon to customers.

Custom Home Décor and Organization Services

Mobile franchises like these offer convenient shop-at-home services to customers. Examples include custom window treatments and closet organizer installation.

Leather Repair

Leather repair franchises restore leather and plastics in homes and offices. In many cases, this type of business serves higher-end clientele in industries such as aviation, automotive, commercial, and marine.

Dry Cleaning Services
This convenient errand service can eliminate the extra trip to the dry cleaner each week. Mobile dry cleaning businesses pick up and drop off dry-clean-only items right to customers' homes or offices.

Locksmith Services
Mobile locksmith services offer 24-hour assistance for those who are locked out of their homes or cars. In some cases, they offer general roadside assistance.

Cleaning Services
Cleaning franchises come to homes or offices to perform services ranging from light housekeeping to more specialized cleaning. This includes general housekeeping, window washing, tile and grout cleaning, gutter cleaning and more.

Computer IT Support Services
Most homes and businesses have computers and will probably have some type of computer or network problem at some point. There are now mobile franchises that offer onsite computer repair solutions to customers, filling a niche for many residential and small business customers.

The concept of a mobile franchise opens a whole new world to people searching for a new business investment. Swift states, "Now, any creative business owner can grow a business by bringing that business to customers - literally to their front doors!"
