Arapahoe County hosts Open Class competitions for citizens - Test yours at the Arapahoe County Fair
Gardeners are invited to compete in the 2007 Arapahoe County Fair Open Class competitions.
Citizens, young and old, from around the state can compete in horticulture (veggies and herbs) as well as floriculture (flowers and arrangements). Submit your best and you may take home that bold blue ribbon along with a cash prize and bragging rights that last an entire year. Each entry will receive educational comments from judges.
There is no pre-entry deadline for horticulture and floriculture. Horticulture (vegetables and herbs) submissions must be entered at the Fair between 7:30 - 11 am., Wednesday, July 18. Flowers must be entered at the Fair between 7:30 - 11 a.m., Friday, July 20. Each entry costs only $1. Open Class information is available online at www.arapahoecountyfair.com or call 303-730-1920 to request an Open Class Fair Book.
So Settle In with the Arapahoe County Fair sponsored by KYGO, Comcast and YourHub .com from July 18-22, 2007 located at 25690 E. Quincy Avenue in Aurora. If you missed out last year, this year promises to be bigger and better, and we're making it easier with our Pay One Price admission.
It's not all about gardening though; other new Open Class divisions include Visual Arts, Creative Arts and Culinary Arts.
For a complete list of open class competition rules, schedules and more, visit www.arapahoecountyfair.com. Want to get more involved? Be a volunteer at the Fair. Call 303-738-7938.
The Arapahoe County Fair is presented by KYGO and platinum sponsors COMCAST and YourHub.com. Arapahoe County is grateful for the support of all our sponsors, because without their help, we would not be able to provide such a high quality event. Some of our sponsors include: South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, 9 News, E-470, City of Littleton, BELLCO, City of Aurora and Villager Newspapers.
