Two physicians from Partners in Pediatrics, a leading Denver-area pediatric practice that integrates both conventional and alternative medicines into their patient care approaches, who authored the newly released Naturally Healthy Kids guidebook, will lead a presentation and book signing at Borders in Aurora, Colo.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2 PM local time, at the Borders bookstore in the Arapahoe Crossings shopping center, located at 6606 South Parker Road (intersection of Parker and Arapahoe Roads), Aurora, CO, 80016, 303-680-4023.
During the event, Drs.
Jerry Rubin
and
Dean Prina
will discuss the genesis of Naturally Healthy Kids and highlight the alternative and integrated medicine approaches featured in the book. Following the presentation, the authors will be available to answer questions and for signings.
Naturally Healthy Kids, authored by Drs. Rubin, Prina (a several-time winner of Denver lifestyle magazine 5280's annual best doctor ranking); Nancy Lataitis, MD; and Jordan Klein, MD, is an A to Z guide for both illness and wellness. The book highlights many common illnesses in children and integrates both conventional medicine and holistic treatments for each of them. The new Naturally Healthy Kids is an easy-to-use guide to common childhood conditions and an essential handbook for all parents, teachers, daycare providers and anyone who cares for children. Each of the many illnesses covered in this spiral-bound handbook are categorized in the following sections: description/physiology, causes/epidemiology, expected course, contagiousness/immunity, home care, integrated therapies, when to call, and prevention. The book, published by Cardinal Publishers Group (ISBN 0977394921), is $24.95 and available at Borders bookstores nationwide.
"We very much appreciate Borders extending an invitation to us to share the information we have provided in our Naturally Healthy Kids book with caregivers throughout the area. Since our practice's philosophy is based on the effective integration of both conventional and alternative medicine approaches, our new guidebook reflects the many options available in the marketplace today and best ways to implement those in both illness and prevention. We look forward to discussing those in our upcoming presentation" noted Dr. Rubin.
Dr. Prina added: "The book was first released locally to our patient families and is now being made available via national distribution, since it was so well received by the thousands of families in our practice. At this platform at Borders, we can extend our knowledge and share information with other members of the community, which we hope will prove invaluable."
Naturally Healthy Kids was recently named a finalist in Foreword Magazine's Book of the Year awards, which honors excellence in independent publishing. The awards were bestowed in June 2007.
Partners in Pediatrics, with offices in both Central and Southeast Denver, is an innovative practice which forges partnerships between patients, parents and health care providers, by offering holistic and preventive pediatric care for Denver-area children. Founded in 1977 with the primary goal of providing the highest quality and most comprehensive pediatric health care available in a private-practice setting, Partners in Pediatrics built a solid reputation, based on a commitment to quality care and a progressiveness in bringing patients the best options available in modern medicine.
