Contributed by: Cherry Creek School District on 1/29/2008

Nine Cherry Creek Schools math teachers were honored on Jan. 14 for successfully completing the Cherry Creek School District's Math Certificate Program, which is designed to give teachers a deeper knowledge of the mathematics they teach. Research shows that deeper content knowledge results in higher student achievement.

Certificate recipients are:

  • Nancy Able, Timberline Elementary School
  • Karen Cohn, Grandview High School
  • Katie Davidson, Falcon Creek Middle School
  • Susan Eckblade, Peakview Elementary School
  • Lana Hansen, Willow Creek Elementary School
  • Nancy Muldoon, Eastridge Elementary School
  • Bea Nolte, Rolling Hills Elementary School
  • Jaci Smith, Liberty Middle School
  • Camille Wagner, Timberline Elementary

The CCSD Math Certificate Program consists of three courses intended to increase content knowledge through courses in Numeracy, Rational Numbers and Math Assessment. The certificate program is a collaborative effort between the University of Colorado at Denver, Cherry Creek Schools, Douglas County Schools and Littleton Public Schools.
