People who inspired you (and how): My Parents-their work ethic was stellar and I always felt protected and loved. My Husband-who is committed to standing up for his principles.

How you have contributed to the community: Working with Jewish Family Service, allowed me to assist refugees and Americans who were underemployed or unemployed needing help in finding work in Denver. It was an opportunity to help make people's lives better . I also helped the community during my 10 years on Denver City Council, I was the catalyst behind the redevelopment of University Hills and the creation of the Denver Skate Park downtown. I was a leader on the T-Rex project that provided Light rail to SE Denver; worked to expand curb-side recycling, and the reopening of Slavens and Southmoor elementary schools in the nineties. My constituents and I and worked together during my tenure on City Council and plan to do even more if elected State Senator in District 35.

What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: The biggest issues facing my constituency are the same issues facing the entire state, affordable and accessible Health care for all therefore I'm committed to the single payer plan that will work for us even if we have pre-existing health conditions while also allowing us a choice of doctor. High costs of gas, groceries, needing full day kindergarten; smaller class size. and creating more effective transportation infrastructure.
