Alexandra Nechita, recognized internationally as a prodigy in the world of art for the past 15 years as well as a United Nations ambassador for the arts, will be in Cherry Creek North for her exhibit at GALLERY M March 10 and 11. In addition to her signature cubist paintings, Nechita will debut seven sculptures she most recently completed -- each piece relates to world peace, liberty and life.
At the age of two, Alexandra Nechita began working in pen and ink on simple white sheets of paper. By five, she had graduated to watercolors and at seven she was painting with oils and acrylics. Her first exhibit was a one-woman (child) show at a public library in Los Angeles...she was just eight years old.
Born in Romania on August 27, 1985, her talent was instantly recognized as capacity crowds came to see the works of the "Petite Picasso" as the press began to call her. She was immediately offered an exhibit at the prestigious (non-profit) Mary Paxon Gallery where the exhibit attracted the attention of legitimate art critics and the media who began spreading the word about this rarest of child prodigies -- an abstract cubist painter who had only recently turned nine years old.
Now 21, Nechita will come to Denver where she will meet collectors and fans at GALLERY M in Cherry Creek North, March 10 from 6:00 - 9:00 and March 11 from 11:30 - 3:00, the public is invited to attend one of two receptions at the gallery.
As a young adult, Alexandra's works have become some of the most recognized in the world; Her exhibits attract thousands. In each market where Nechita visits she has a desire to be involved in the community. Denver is no different. She will visit and paint with patients from Children's Hospital while she is in town.
Those interested in meeting Nechita and viewing her most recent works are encouraged to call GALLERY M at 303-331-8400 or go to gallerym.com. Reservations are recommended as the show is expected to be over capacity.
