Windows to the divine art show
Contributed by: Shannon Robinson on 10/4/2007

The Colorado Dominican Vocation Foundation (CDVF) announces the fifth Fra Angelico Celebration of Art & Spirituality, to be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 in the Seawell Ballroom of the Denver Center for Performing Arts. The focal point of the Fra Angelico Celebration is the "Windows to the Divine" Art Exhibition and Sale, featuring more than 100 works of art by established and emerging local artists as well as works of nationally renowned artists such as Kim English, Quang Ho, William Hook, Ramon Kelley, Emilio Lobato and Daniel Sprick. The mission of the exhibition is to honor the special calling of artists and to create opportunities for people of diverse traditions to understand better the sacred nature of all creation.

Windows to the Divine is one-of-a-kind in the breadth and spectrum of work exhibited as "spiritual art." The content of the juried show is not confined to explicitly religious or sacred subjects, but also includes diverse styles ranging from representational to realistic to contemporary and traditional ethnographic. Many spiritual paths are represented, including artists and subject matter from the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Native-American traditions.

The event is sponsored by the CDVF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes the vocations of the priesthood and the artist, and encourages dialogue between people of different faiths about art and spirituality. Ticket prices range from $50 to $250 per person. For more information regarding reservations or the works of art for sale, visit www.op.org/novices/cdvf.
