Cheers to the champions of Chateau Des Mons

Cheri Seeton and Sunny Marie Hackman, performers in The Sunny and Cher(i)Show, entertained at the Chateau Des Mons, a facility in Englewood caring for those with dementia. Their performance consisted of vaudeville variety, including skits (complete with costume changes), music and singing, magic tricks, jokes and balloon sculptures.

At the end of the show, two wonderfully gifted men mesmerized the crowd with their harmonious voices as they sang songs from a bygone era. They provided the background music for the performers as they made balloon sculptures for each of the residents. "We love to have an interactive show," exclaimed Sunny Marie. "This was as good as it gets!" One of the residents expressed herself this way: "See why we are so happy here?"

Sunny Marie and Cheri agree that Chateau Des Mons is a happy place, and the talent of the residents is one of the reasons why. "It's amazing!" Cheri Seeton said. "Musical ability is one of the first talents that emerges in a young person, and it's wonderful to see it operating at the end of life as well."
