Two new officers and three new members were welcomed to the 2008 board of directors of The Movement Dance Co.
Christina Sandhoff, Co-Founder, Co-Executive/Artistic Director of the Movement Dance Co., has been elected to the position of officer. Christina has coached and choreographed in Colorado Public Schools for six years, most recently serving as head varsity coach at Castle View High School in Castle Rock in 2006-2007. Christina is a former Nuggets Dancer who loves to teach and perform.
Jaime Cardenas Southwick, Co-Founder, Co-Executive/Artistic Director has also been elected as officer. Jaime began her professional career in 1998 with the Colorado Contemporary Dance Company. She has danced at half-time shows, Disney Land, and as well as several local charities. Jaime's passion for dance has also been expressed through her award-winning lyrical, contemporary jazz, and tap choreography.
Cristen Recker has been elected to the position of Chair. Cristen is experienced in business management, telemarketing, and business-to-business relations. She attended the University of Colorado and is currently pursuing an education in Midwifery. Cristen has been actively promoting and supporting The Movement Dance Co. since its inception.
Cheryl Murphy has been elected to the position of Assistant Chair and Secretary. Cheryl has over ten years communications experience and was recently the Director of Marketing for an international software company. Cheryl has worked for such organizations as the Colorado Environmental Business Alliance, Qwest Communications, and Dex Media. Cheryl has a MA in International and Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver and a BA in English from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Jewel Colell has been elected to the position of Treasurer. Jewel has a heart for women of all ages and wants to see women discover themselves and reach there full poetical. God is first and foremost in everything she does. She has worked with special needs kids for the last 10 years and is currently working on her nursing license.
The Movement Dance Company is a dance company of women with a passion for dance and a love for God. The Movement is working women, mothers and college students who donate a percentage of profit from each show to The Women's Crisis & Family Outreach Center. The Movement is currently producing
