To many skiers and snowboarders, winter officially starts with the showing of Warren Miller’s latest film. This year Jeep presents Warren Miller’s 56th annual film, HIGHER GROUND, taking us to magnificent spots across the globe with legendary athletes such as Seth Morrison and Jeremy Nobis, mogul champ Jeremy Bloom, and hot-dog icon Glen Plake, pushing their athletic boundaries. Coming to Douglas County High School, 2842 Front Street, in Castle Rock on Friday, November 18 at 7 pm and Saturday, November 19 at 1 and 7:30 pm, this is the 6th annual showing of the Warren Miller films to benefit DCHS After Prom. After Prom is the drug and alcohol free party held in April to keep nearly 1000 of our community’s young adults in a safe environment following the prom. The After Prom party is open to juniors, seniors and their dates and provides a multitude of food, games, and activities, plus a wide variety of prizes to those in attendance. All proceeds from the Castle Rock Warren Miller event will benefit the After Prom party. Film attendees will receive a free lift ticket voucher to Copper Mountain and Winter Park/Mary Jane, as well as, be eligible to win fantastic door prizes. $12 tickets are available at Stone Canyon Outfitters, Castle Rock, (303-660-1609) and Christy Sports, Park Meadows, (303-708-8535).
