Catch the fast "train" to a festive spirit in the free Holiday Express Concert performed by the Highlands Ranch Concert Band on Dec. 16, 3 pm at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church, located at 9100 E Parker Road in Parker. Enjoy the "ride" of favorite holiday songs with your children and friends.

Songs to be performed, which include popular children's movie themes, are: "Polar Express" "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", "Sleigh Ride", "Fantasia For Christmas based on the Ukranian Bell Carol", "Celtic Carol", "Holiday Cheer Medley" of Silver Bells, Let It Snow and Winter Wonderland, "Gesu Bambino", "Christmas Festival" and "Joy of Christmas, a Collection of Carols".

Band Conductor, Rob Yost, has taught instrumental music in Colorado public schools for twenty-nine years, most recently at Sinclair Middle School in Englewood. His professional conducting has included: Conductor and Music Director of the Orion Winds for eight seasons, guest conductor for the Colorado Wind Ensemble, and Instrumental Director for the Empire Lyric Players. He has also served as a staff member for the Colorado Ambassadors of Music on their biennial performance tours of Europe, and he is active as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the region.

Highlands Ranch Concert Band, a non-profit, tax exempt organization of volunteer professional, amateur and student musicians, is dedicated to educating and enlightening our community with quality musical performances. Founded in 2001, the Concert Band has performed at numerous events and festivals in Highlands Ranch and throughout the Denver metro area. Most of our concerts are free thanks in large part to the support of grants, community organizations, companies and individual donors. The Concert Band, consisting of 50 members, performs traditional wind band literature, classics, marches, Broadway and show tunes. Swing Shift, the big band ensemble of 20 members, plays danceable swing and jazz music. Small chamber ensembles from within the Concert Band perform at special events and corporate functions.

The Highlands Ranch Concert Band is proud to announce its major sponsors, the Metro District of Highlands Ranch, the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District, 9 News, First Transit, Highlands Ranch Self-Storage, KUVO, and Wells Fargo Bank.

Directions to the concert: From S Parker Road & E Mainstreet, go East 2.5 miles on E Mainstreet (which becomes E Parker Rd), turn right on Miller Rd, and go right or South .10 mile on the paved driveway that leads to the church.

The performance is free and open to the public. Contributions will be accepted. For information, visit www.hrcb.org or call 303-346-8125.
