Photographer John Fielder seems to have a pretty easy life. He treks across Colorado and takes photos of our gorgeous state.
Then he publishes books of those beautiful images.
Cake.
Let’s give him a challenge.
We’ve seen some great Then & Now contest submissions from our readers this month, and we want to see even more of that quality.
Show us that backyard in 1988 before you put the pool in and the grandkids splashing in it this summer, that little tree in Rocky Mountain National Park that towers over you 30 years later, or your kids snuggling with the then-puppy and your teens playing ball with her now.
We want Mr. Fielder to work hard to pick the contest winners.
While we head to the mountains to watch the aspens change color or get comfy on the sofa for a Broncos game, lets put him to work.
We need your submissions by 5 p.m. Oct. 3 (that’s Monday) for them to be considered for the contest. The details: All photo pairs should be accompanied with photo captions that include the date, place, photographer and subject(s) of the photo.
You can post your photos on your Hub or you can:
> Send them to YourHub.com, Attn: Then & Now, 100 Gene Amole Way, Denver, CO 80204. Please provide your phone number.
> Bring them to the Rocky Mountain News building at the above address to have them scanned. Ask for Brendan Harrington or me.
Each of the 15 YourHub.com print sections, which are delivered every Thursday with the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post, have been publishing the Then & Now photos we’ve already received. In October, John Fielder will select one winner from each section.
Winners will receive a signed copy of Colorado 1870-2000 II and be invited to a reception at the Colorado History Museum.
