Bronco Kircus allegedly involved in assault
Contributed by: Arapahoe County Sheriff on 5/21/2007

On May 20, 2007 at about 4:27 A.M. Arapahoe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 8200 block of South Krameria Way regarding an assault. The caller advised the victim had just been struck in the face and the suspect was leaving the scene in a black pickup truck. On arrival deputies contacted the victim, a homeowner in the neighborhood. The victim identified the suspect as a Denver Broncos football player, identified as David Russell Kircus, 27.

Kircus was initially invited to the residence by a female acquaintance of his. At the home there was a disagreement between the female acquaintance and Kircus. Kircus was repeatedly asked to leave the home by the homeowner. In a discussion at the end of the driveway, Kircus is alleged to have struck the homeowner in the face causing serious bodily injury, and then left the area. The homeowner was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

On May 21, 2007 at about 10:15 A.M., Kircus responded to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office. He was placed in custody and transported to the Arapahoe County Detention Facility. Kircus was charged with the following criminal violation:

18-3-203 C.R.S. Second degree assault, a Class 4 Felony. A Class 4 felony is punishable, upon conviction, by a sentence of 2 - 6 years imprisonment within the Department of Corrections

The bond was set in the amount of $6,000, which he posted. Kircus was released from custody with his next court appearance being Tuesday May 22, 2007 at 8:30 A.M. in Arapahoe County District Court Division 301.
