]Incidents reported by Englewood Police Department
Englewood police responded
to a report of road rage on the 3300 block of West Monument Avenue at 7:31 a.m. July 24. According to reports, a 22-year-old man told police he was slowing down to turn into a driveway when a white truck traveling behind him came very close to his rear bumper, honked his horn, yelled at him and made an obscene gesture with his middle finger. The man recorded the license plate of the truck and a warning letter was sent by Englewood police to the registered owner, according to reports.
Englewood police responded
to a report of burglary on the 4800 block of South Acoma Street at 9:53 p.m. July 24. According to reports, a 20-year-old woman told officers her 23-year-old ex-boyfriend had taken several items of furniture, a washer/dryer set and clothing from her home. The woman told police she was having trouble with her ex-boyfriend and had taken out a restraining order against him earlier in the day, according to reports. Police contacted the ex-boyfriend by phone who said he had rented a U-Haul and moved the items at the request of the woman earlier that day, according to reports. The man said he was willing to bring all of the items back and try and work things out if she would let him, according to reports. Officers attempted to locate the man to verify he had the items, but were unable to find him at the address he provided, police said. The officers returned to the woman's apartment where they found the ex-boyfriend talking to the woman at about 12:20 a.m., according to reports. The woman told police she was not upset with her boyfriend any more, and that she did not want to pursue any charges or have him served with the restraining order she had requested earlier in the day, police said. The boyfriend said he would leave the apartment for the evening, according to reports.
Englewood police responded
to a report of a theft at a Starbucks located at 3319 S. Broadway at 6:34 p.m. July 24. According to reports, a 22-year-old woman told police she had left her cell phone charging in her car with the windows rolled down while she went inside the restaurant. When she returned a short time later, her phone was gone, according to reports. <NO1>Englewood police had no suspects at the time of the report.
Englewood police responded
to a report of a theft from Hobby Lobby, 401 Englewood Parkway, at 1:57 p.m. July 24. According to police reports, an 22-year-old employee told his 46-year-old manager he saw a woman place a bandana in her purse. The manager confronted the woman and discovered the bandanna and a green candleholder with the price tags missing in her purse, police said. The two items are valued at $1.86, according to reports. The officer issued the woman a summons for shoplifting, and as the woman was leaving the store she told the officer she stole the items because she doesn't like corporations and that the theft doesn't matter because "they have billions of dollars," according to reports.
