SSPR invites residents to help plan
Contributed by: SSPR on 4/29/2008

South Suburban Park and Recreation District's Board of Directors invites residents to participate in the process to update the District's Gold Medal long-range plan. The plan will help guide the District in fulfilling the park and recreation needs of the community for the next several years. South Suburban is the regional provider of parks and recreation for a six-city territory that includes Littleton, Lone Tree, Columbine Valley, Sheridan, Bow Mar and western Centennial, along with portions of unincorporated Arapahoe and Douglas counties.

The Gold Medal committee will meet during the upcoming spring and summer months, with the goal of presenting a final report with recommendations to the Board of Directors by the fall 2008. Committee members will analyze current recreational programs and facilities, parks, trails and open space, research demographics and trends and make recommendations for the future.

LaDonna Jurgensen, a local CPA and recognized community leader, and Vorry Moon, who has over 30 years of community development and planning expertise, have been appointed by the Board of Directors to co-chair the committee.

If you would like to be considered to serve on the Gold Medal committee, please submit a brief letter explaining your interest, along with your primary area(s) of focus such as parks, trails, open space and/or recreation programs and facilities. Letters should be mailed to: Gold Medal Committee, c/o South Suburban, 6631 S. University Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121 or emailed to teresac@sspr.org.
