Governor visits Iraq; Meets with Rep. Rice
Contributed by: Nicki Van Veen on 12/26/2007

As many know, Governor Ritter visited Iraq December 12th. While there, he had a chance to meet with State Representative Joe Rice (D-Littleton).

A photo from their visit is included here.

Pictured from left to right: Denver police Officer Ken Chavez, state Sen. Steve Ward, a Littleton Republican who is a colonel in the Marines, Governor Bill Ritter; and state Rep. Joe Rice, a Littleton Democrat who is a lieutenant colonel in the Army.

In a phone call, Rep. Rice said,

"Governor Ritter's visit to Iraq provided him with an invaluable chance to see what Colorado's soldiers are facing on the ground. Being so far away from home during the holidays, it was good to see a familiar face. I know his visit was a boost for the moral of Colorado troops, myself included."
