Contributed by: MARGARET STRNAD on 2/18/2007

The sounds, fads and fashions of American Bandstand, Laugh In, Dean Martin's Golddiggers and Hullabaloo came alive at the First Annual Ball of the Krewe of Renard Roux, which was held on Monday evening, February 12, at the Crystal Rose in Littleton. The Ball was a significant and unequivocal success and will go down in the Mardi Gras history books as the beginning of a love affair between "Renard Roux", native Coloradians and transplants from the Gulf Coast Carnival Community.

The evening began with a cocktail hour, followed by a traditional, spicy dinner featuring gumbo, ettouffee, southern pecan pie and bread pudding with rum raisin sauce.

'Shelvis', the nights exciting and colorful entertainer, whipped the crowd into a frenzy with renditions of 'Sixties' singers Elvis, Tom Jones and Neil Diamond
The Twist and Sixties medley dance contest winners were presented tickets to the AV's hockey games and Herbal, Therapeutic Massages. Doorprizes were also awarded to 20 lucky guests.
