I want to nominate my teacher Mr. David Derby, He is one of the best.

My name is Steven Martin, I have a brain injury and have been in special education. I am a senior now and have been lucky to have had some good teachers.

But, Mr. Derby went above and beyond his duties to help me. With lessons from other classes. To invite to sporting events he was coaching. To events over the summer for me and another special-ed boy.

We no longer have him at Sheridan High School, he is at Skyline High School in Longmont now, but missed by all of us at Sheridan, especially me. Please make him your Special Teacher Awards. He is the best.
