Public art at the golf course
Contributed by: Englewood Golf Course on 8/1/2007

The current renovations taking place at the Englewood Golf Course include plans for the placement of public art to complement the new course configuration.

The Englewood Golf Course wishes to purchase a completed outdoor sculpture for the Englewood Golf Course, located at 2101 W. Oxford Avenue. Multiple works may be chosen for one or more landscaped locations in front of the golf course clubhouse or outside the golf course restaurant.

Project Details:
Wildlife projects and other nature-related themes are of interest, but all works appropriate for a public golf course will be considered. Work should be of material that is vandal-resistant and suitable for Colorado weather.

The total budget for this project is $25,000, including installation. This project is being funded through the City of Englewood's annual Public Art Fund allocation and the annual Colorado Lottery Fund allocation.

The installation date is tentatively scheduled for mid-April so that the piece(s) will be in place for the May 2008 opening of the newly redesigned golf course.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 31, 2007. The tentative selection date is October 15.

Entries must include:

Artist name, address, and phone number
Photos of work to be considered must be submitted on disc (in digital format)
Installation details
Submit entries to:

Englewood Parks and Recreation Department
Attn: Public Art
1155 W. Oxford Avenue

Please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your disc returned.
