Tucker gets 400th coaching win

Coach Jim Tucker achieved a coaching milestone recently as he earned his 400 th win as an Englewood High School coach.

Coach Tucker served previously as Girl's Junior Varsity Basketball Coach and is now the Head Coach of Girls' Tennis. He has earned 200 wins in basketball and now 200 wins in tennis. Coach Tucker serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado High School Coaches Association as Tennis President.

Coach Tucker has been recognized locally and nationally for his coaching accomplishments and achievements. A few key examples are:

--Tennis President for the Colorado High School Coaches Association

--One of the founders for the Colorado High School Tennis Coaches Association

-- Certified Tennis Teaching Professional with the U.S. Professional Tennis Association

-- 2001 Recipient of the National Federation of High School Coaches "Boys Tennis Coach of the Year for the State of Colorado"

-- 2002 Recipient of the "National Assistant Coach of the Year Award" for Girls Basketball sponsored by AFLAC (National Insurance Company).

--Author of several coaching articles for local, regional, and National coaching publications

Coach Tucker has had long-term success in coaching, but more important, he has served as a great role model and mentor to several kids and students, putting on free coaching clinics in both basketball and tennis in Englewood and the Denver-metro area. Congratulations, Coach Tucker!
