Contributed by: Aurora Cavalry on 3/30/2006

The Aurora Cavalry kicked off their 2006 campaign Tuesday evening with a 156-83 exhibition game victory against the Buckley Air Force Base Panthers. The Cavalry had a well balanced attack, including 11 players scoring in double figures and 18 field goals from beyond the three-point arc. The game featured several highlight reel dunks and the brand of energetic and exciting basketball the International Basketball League is known for.

"I was extremely pleased with our performance tonight", said Cavalry coach Dejon Jernagin. "The guys played very hard and as we saw tonight, our balance will be our strength as we head into the season on Friday." Cavalry assistant coach, A.B. Maxey, said the game was indicative of what fans can expect throughout the 2006 season. "This game showed not only the level of talent on this team, but the type of basketball that we will see in Aurora this year; fast and furious".

The Cavalry open their regular season on Friday, March 31against the Colorado Crossover. The game begins at 7:15 p.m. at Gateway High School in Aurora. The game will feature a Color Guard from Buckley Air Force Base and performances by the Aurora Cavalry Dance Team and the nationally acclaimed dance team, Izon Dance Ensemble. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 dollars for children. A Family Pack is also being offered. For $25 you receive 4 tickets, 4 hotdogs, and 4 sodas.
