Colorado Wolverines Baseball Team Filling Out Roster
Team of 13’s will compete for local and national titles with players from Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert Counties.
The Colorado Wolverines are looking to fill out their roster for the 2006 baseball season. We have a great group of core players and are looking for a couple more good players to fill out the roster. With tournaments right around the corner, getting two more quality players has become a priority, said manager Jon Boesen. The Wolverines will play as a 13 year old team this season.
Head Coaches Tom Feldhaus and Mark Griffith have over 25 years experience coaching youth baseball. Feldhaus emphasized, “We are looking for boys who love the game, who love working hard and who want to compete.” “With Tom’s experience playing college and pro baseball and the players we have already picked up we are excited for what next year holds for us”, Griffith remarked. Feldhaus played in the Minnesota Twins organization and graduated from Regis University.
The Wolverines’ goal is to find several more pitchers to go with the talented lineup already assembled. “You can never have enough pitching, because at this age level, pitching wins you games”, said Feldhaus. He added that all positions are open and that playing time would be distributed on merit and hard work. He continued, “Each boy will have to come in and earn their playing time, earn their spot in the lineup, nothing will be taken for granted.”
The team has access to indoor and outdoor facilities at a local high school. “We will train right through the winter working on pitching, agility and hitting drills, doing a lot of teaching,” vowed Griffith. The team has already acquired a number of corporate sponsors and has scheduled several fundraisers to offset expenses.
Boys interested in becoming a Wolverine should contact Jon Boesen at 303-885-4624 to schedule a tryout. Sponsors are welcome!
