GIRLS! Are you looking for a fun and competitive sports camp to attend this summer? Different youth sports camps are being offered at Denver Christian High School in Soccer, Girls' Basketball, and Volleyball. DC has a reputation of excellence in sports, and summer camps are a great way to learn new skills, from top coaches, through instruction, drills and competition. Girls of all ability levels, from beginner to experienced, are welcome and will learn a lot from these coaches.
The summer "KICKS" off with the
LIFE'S A BALL SOCCER CAMP
from May 30-June 2. Directed by
Melissa Lamie
, head women's soccer coach at Grove City College in Pennsylvania, this camp is for girls AND boys going into
grades 1-6
in fall 2006. The Life's A Ball! Soccer Camp is a camp that will focus on the fundamentals of the game of soccer while making sure the players learn the fun involved with this great game! Soccer is a fast-moving, free-spirited game that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages, at any skill level.The coaches will give kids basic instruction on the fundamentals of the game: Passing, Receiving, Shooting, Dribbling, Heading, Defensive play, and Offensive patterns.They will also emphasize important aspects of the game such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for officials. Most of all they emphasize having FUN!!! Camp is from 9:30-11:30am and costs only $55. The camp registration form can be found online at

Next, "SHOOT" for attending the
GIRLS' HOOPS CAMP
. This fun and fundamental girls' basketball camp for girls
grades 5-8
will be held from June 12-15. Times for the camp are 9-11:30am and the cost is $70.
Becky Mudd
, head girls' basketball coach at DC will direct the camp and
Steve Fortna
and other local coaches and former players will assist. Coach Mudd's DC team just won the league, district and regional championships, and finished runner-up at state. She and her summer staff are excited to work with younger players on shooting, ball-handling, dribbling, passing, footwork, movement patterns and post play in a fun and competitive setting. Later in the summer you will definitely "DIG" attending the
DIG-IT VOLLEYBALL CAMP
. The dates for this camp are July 31-Aug. 3. There are two sessions for this camp:5th- 8th graders from 2:00-4:30 ($60) and 9th-12th graders from 5:30-8:30 ($70). There is an option for 9th graders to attend both sessions and work on basics the 1st session, and advanced skills the 2nd session ($100). DC Volleyball Coach

will direct both camps, with coaches Tracy Shroder and Tina Stowers assisting. Basics of passing, setting, and hitting will be worked on during Session I, and advanced skills of the previous camp will be worked on during Session II. Find this form online at
