Dear Coach Greg: I've been dating the same woman for almost two months and even though I'm more than willing to take our relationship to the "next level" she keeps putting me off. I may not have the body or the stamina of a 20 year old but I keep in shape and can show her a "good time" if she'd let me. In a world where everyone wants to get their own needs met first when is it going to be my turn?
Let's Get Physical
Dear Let's Get Physical: It's your turn to get your needs met just as soon as you find your voice to ask for what you want
and you find the right person to physically share this intimate experience with. Before you have "the talk" with her I would recommend that you first decide if you are compatible in all 4 components of connection (emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical). If not, are you also willing to consciously work on these critical areas to develop a meaningful long-term relationship with this woman, or are you only interested in having a physical connection with her?
Keep in mind that men frequently connect with women through physical intimacy whereas women usually connect with men through verbal intimacy. When you're ready to openly discuss this topic with her keep in mind that she may find your willingness to talk from your heart rather than from your head (and ego) may put her in the mood when the time is right for both of you.
