Blog Entry 31 of 37 Alpenglow
I am a former community journalist at YourHub.com who now works as a copy editor at the Vail Daily. I mostly use YourHub.com to keep in touch with my former colleagues at YourHub.com World Headquarters in Denver, but I also like photography and post a lot of photos. Keystone
Contributed by: Joel Hunt   on 3/19/2008

Because I can see the eastern part of Beaver Creek from my bedroom, I don't usually travel far to snowboard, except for the early- and late-season trips to Loveland or A-Basin.

But some friends of mine from Minnesota rented a condo at Keystone, so I got them some gold medallions and snowboarded there for the first time in about two years.

It was more crowded than Beaver Creek (it was a weekend), but there's a lot more park area. And we skied until almost 7 p.m. (mostly because of the night skiing, but it was after daylight-saving time, so it was still pretty light out anyway).

Oh, and some kid called me "bro." That's a first.

Ingrid got accepted to an accelerated nursing program at the University of Wyoming, which starts in May, so we're looking at moving up there sometime in the near future. She'll get a BSN in nursing (her second bachelor's), and we can live anywhere in the state, but there's a good job on campus in Laramie that I interviewed for, so I'm hoping that will pan out. I'll just have to convince them somehow that I can't leave the Daily until after ski season.

Nothing's set in stone yet in terms of a job or where or when we'll move, so more on that later.
