Droppings: Creepy balloons and DIY Pollock
Contributed by: YourHub.com   on 7/12/2006

It's been a long morning, folks. Between this new flea collar and yesterday's vet checkup (somebody owes me a dinner) I haven't had much time to dig around the Web today. But never fear, there will be links-a-plenty posted throughout the day.

Like looking into a latex mirror
Now here's a hobby that doesn't get nearly enough attention. No longer the realm of creepy guys at family theme restaurants and be-makeuped weirdos at carnivals, balloon sculpture finally gets its due. Note: This link changed on me over the weekend, but is now pointing in the right direction.

You call that a hunger strike?
Apparently, Saddam's love for Nacho Cheesier Doritos greatly outweighs his political ambition. His hunger strike barely even reached "peckish." I've gone longer without eating accidentally.

Virtual Jackson Pollock
For those who look at modern art and say, "Hey, I can dump paint on a canvas better than that guy," there comes JacksonPollock.org. This virtual canvas is cleaner than real paint and so easy even a dog can use it. It makes abstract expressionism feel like fingerpainting. Just move the mouse around the screen and click to change colors. Be warned: This site is surprisingly addictive.

Tip: Once you've splattered to your heart's content, take a screen shot and send the digital version of your masterpieceto me here, and I'll post them with the next batch of droppings.

OK, now everyone has a MySpace profile
Now, as an unemployed dog with Internet access, I tend to shuffle around MySpace quite a bit. Now there are quite a few fictional characterswho have profiles, (see the June 21 Droppings) but this one takes the cake. Not only does Tom Joad have a profile, but so does his whole family.

And finally... the Right Around A Minute And A Half Of Your Life You Will Never Get Back. This has been around for a while, but it's one of my favorites and I thought you all should see it. You'll never hear Peter Gabriel the same way again.

Unfortunately, your link to the balloon art is no longer what was intended.
