HubCap: This week's best blogs
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 1/12/2007

What are the most popular topics for bloggers right now? A quick search on Technorati says the iPhone, Saddam, YouTube, something called Studivz, and some lady named Daniela Cicarelli.

Our bloggers cover none of those topics. What we can offer you, in our top five, is:

1) A photo of the hairballKarin pulled out of her vacuum cleaner? I thought so.

2) A lady ( Erin Di Paolo) whojust got kicked out of her book club.

3) A blogger ( Ann Himel) who may or may not have had a heart attack on New Year's Day.

4) A story about how one of our writers reunited a canteen left on the island of Guam with the descendents of its original owner, a WWII soldier.

5) A grown man ( Bill Boucher) who can draw an RTD bus on an egg carton.

YourHub.com: Still not doing, or even aware of, what the popular kids are doing.

The best of the rest:

Tabithagot to hold the Olympic torch!

Jared Keller is looking for these three comic books.

Aaron Brachfeld and Mary Choate, of Coastalfields in Arvada and Golden, answer the question: Should you put snow on your garden?

Reine Stuart, of Parker, details her pre-swim meet routine (and jitters) in her blog.

Chris "Father Knows ... Something" Stone, of Evergreen, says the timer on the toaster oven is his new best friend now that he has kids.

Gladys Mercier, of Arvada, reminisces about the National Western Stock Show, and why she doesn't eat chicken too often.

YourHub.com's Rebecca Zimmerman has found a new hobby: ski racing. She won't share her times with us, though.

Is Karin Malchow an anti-intellectual, or just sensible?

New blogger Michael Ryan, of Morrison, says there is no evidence of global warming in his driveway. Also, thanks for your concerns about his health, but he's not making any new year's resolutions.

Nikki Britain, of Parker, discusses the difference in her birthday celebrations from her time B.C. (before children). Also, wanna know what croup is?

Marcelo Duran, of Denver, keeps us up on The Real World Denver. Just think, you can do something productive with that half-hour you would have spent watching it.

Anne Catto, of Parker, says the town is a great place to raise kids, and she'd like to see more evidence of it in the Carriage Parade.

Meagan says she doesn't need to make new year's resolutions.

YourHub.com's John Eisel says the NHL should rework its schedule so he can watch his beloved New York Islanders play in Denver. Well, not just for that.

Julius Vaughns parents' divorce is still smarting, especially with his mom getting back on the dating scene.

Seth Davis, of YourHub.com, says he has a gambling problem. Maybe that's why all the fingers on his left hand are broken.

Barbara Neff, of Castle Rock, is now a big fan of the Old Stone Church Restaurant in Castle Rock. Read her review.

Nan Wigington, of Denver, says the snow has really been killing business at her
bookstore, Miss Prothero's Books. But at least we haven't had an earthquake lately.

Jim McAllister gives us the weather report in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. Real cute.

Stephanie Blake, of Parker, is becoming " mom-ish." And she's not worried.

Are you a big fan of Thoreau? Don't read Jim Syring's latest blog about him.

Buddhahas a new home. He lives with Merrimon Crawford, of Arvada. Buddha is the name of a cat, by the way.
