Every baby should have one outfit
Contributed by: Suz Mitchell-Elsasser on 12/21/2006

One of the most difficult things a parent would ever have to do is cope with the loss of their baby. One of the hardest things Warm Hearts-Warm Babies does is provide burial layettes to those Colorado families needing them. In some cases, the family is not financially able to provide their baby with a beautiful garment. In other cases, the family is not emotionally able to handle the burial of the infant. Often the family cannot locate a small enough outfit to fit a premature baby even if they are in a position to purchase clothing.

Warm Hearts-Warm Babies is a non-profit organization that provides hospitals around the state with burial layettes free of charge for families who have lost an infant. We try to include an outfit, matching hat, booties, small blanket, keepsake, mother's tear hankie and a memory envelope.

Of all the burial layettes Warm Hearts-Warm Babies provides, the ones for full term boys are needed most. There are times when we have to tell the hospital there are no full term boy burial outfits available. Our volunteers do their best to keep this from happening but they could use some help. Thanks to donations from many wonderful people and organizations there is currently beautiful fabric and yarn available for our volunteers to use for these outfits.

If you are able to help sew, knit or crochet these needed burial outfits or any of the other layette items please contact Warm Hearts-Warm Babies at info@warmheartswarmbabies.org or 303-919-5413.
