If you believe in God or not, please allow me to tell my story about this purse. Two years ago I had met a man, Let me call him Mark. He said he loved me, was in love with me, lived with me, wanted to marry me after my son went to college, helped me thru my breast cancer, my surgery to remove cervix cancer cells, and said I was like no other woman he's met. It wasn’t all perfect, he was not always true to his word, he always liked to see what my reaction to something true or untrue he’d say, and sometimes that was very hurtful. I asked God to let me know if this was “the man” for me, but I never got an answer until 6-17-05. I created this purse and received a very positive response no matter where I went. I had knitted 2 more purses just to see if I could sell them. My first customer wanted a black base with white fur. I had given my money to the church as I was so excited that I already had a sale. Well when I called her to let her know the purse was ready, her phone was disconnected!! Since then I donated this purse to Oprah with my story. My son was going to Europe so I planned my vacation starting 6-13 thru 6-20, the week he was gone, I was going to relax as my job and personal life was really taking a toll on me, get my car fixed, AND to try to sell my now three purses. Mark saw me late Monday night, called Tues. and Wed. to say good morning, how ya doing. Monday morning I took my car into the shop as it had a radiator problem, well it turns out to be more than a $45. problem. Its now, $800. worth of repairs or the engine would overheat and I’d have to buy a new engine. I had to leave without my car being serviced, I was not prepared for this huge repair bill. I took it back Wednesday after I knew another day had passed and I wanted my car to sell these purses. I had wanted to go to the Cherry Creek Plaza on Wednesday because they had a farmers market, that plan was interrupted. I ended up going to Cherry Creek Plaza on Thursday instead. I found out I had to do more than have my purses lay on a bench. I needed a selling tool/display and that was an inexpensive coat rack. For some unknown reason, I was totally obsessed with selling these purses, like my life depended on it, which is not my nature, its just a purse!!! 6-17-05, Friday morning, I go to the first garage sale site I see, no coat rack, I then go to a Goodwill, no coat rack, on my way to another second hand store, I saw another garage sale sign, even drove passed it and turned around in the parking lot!! This garage sale was at an apartment complex. They did not have a coat rack either. On my way out of the complex, almost magnified before me was KLE which was the last letters of Mark’s license plate, could it be his car??? (I did not know where he stayed after he moved out), so I backed up to see if it was, looked inside, sure enough, it was!! Since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I’d say hello. I saw some men's tennie shoes, thinking they could have been his son’s, there was no answer when I knocked. I thought I would listen for his voice, sure enough, he was talking on the phone in a room where the window was open. He was on the phone not more than 2 to 3 minutes and I knocked on the window and said “Mark?”. There was no answer. I then knocked at the door and a woman answers and she asked who I was and I said, “Linda.” Anyone that knew Mark, knew me. Then I asked who she was, she said, “his wife of 12 years, that Mark is a lair and will never leave me.” I told her “this can’t be right”. I asked to speak to Mark, asked for compassion, received nothing but a threat to get off the property or she’d call the police for harassment!! I was TOTALLY DEVASTATED!!! I made it to the sidewalk and laid there, cried... cried and cried!!! BUT.....received my answer from God answer that he is not the man for me. It was no accident, God had master planned all of this to let him know you will not hurt my child any more and I’m going to take her away from you. It happened all because of a coat rack I was looking for to sell my purses!! Now I understand why I was so obsessed Thursday with getting a coat rack!!! Mark owes me some money and called me 5 days later after I left him a message, “besides a lair, are you a thief too???? He said he’s NOT married and he told her to tell me they were married because I had no business knocking on someone’s door unannounced. I told him that's not the way I live. Unannounced or not, he showed no compassion, was that real love???? He let me go thru this suffering only thinking of himself. He said I’d get my money within 2 days... haven’t seen it yet. They say not to let one situation ruin a relationship but when its a situation that God put out before you....... whose side would you take??? and it isn’t a earthly being!! My mom gave me a knitting kit for Christmas when I was in elementary school and taught myself how to knit. My mother is now in heaven to hear my story. Thank you for your time to read my story!!
