Contributed by: Brendan Harrington on 8/25/2005

The Town of Erie Department of Public Works has completed the sign installation for the four-way stop at the new Erie High School. The new signage was in place by 10 am this morning, Wednesday, August 24, 2005.

Additionally, DPW crews have installed warning signs and new speed limit signs visible to motorists approaching the high school intersection.

BACKGROUND:

During last night's Board of Trustees meeting, the Board directed staff to install the oversized stop signs at the intersection of WCR 5 and Leon Wurl Parkway. The Board also directed staff to lower the speed limits at the high school intersection to reflect the following changes:

The speed limit along WCR 5 south of Leon Wurl Parkway will be reduced from 45 MPH to 40 MPH

The speed limit along WCR 5 north of Leon Wurl Parkway will be reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH

The speed limit along Leon Wurl Parkway between WCR 3 to just east of the high school will be reduced from 50 MPH to 40 MPH
