Herrmann
, a one-time feral cat, was adopted by the
Harber family
of Erie in 1991. After surviving battles with coyotes, foxes, hawks, owls, eagles, and other nemeses, and then becoming an indoor cat for almost his entire life, Herrmann recently disappeared from the family home. He went AWOL while his humans,
Aaron
and
Holly
, were out of town and has not been seen since.
Herrmann's four dogs --
Bandit
,
Velma
,
Wally
, and
Wonka
(three Golden Retrievers and one German Shepherd -- all from Guide Dogs for the Blind) -- miss him terribly, as do his human companions, Aaron and Holly. Herrmann has been a long-time member of the family and is known as the world's sweetest cat when he is inside, except for the fact he always bosses around the dogs (who obey him instantaneously, well, except for Velma, the German Shepherd, who resists Herrmann's leadership at times but usually gives in to the mightily clawed warrior).
Herrmann is known by friends as the "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" of the feline world. Despite his sweetness when indoors, when Herrmann is outside, he took on anything up to 50 pounds in weight and was known as "Killer Kitty." He has been on television and is a favorite of anyone who has ever met him.
If you have seen this grey, short-haired, tabby cat, please call (303) 666-6161 or send an e-mail to
Aaron@HarberTV.com
.
There is a $5,000 cash reward for the safe return of a relatively healthy Herrmann by August 18th. Alternatively, if a shelter or humane society or one of its employees finds Herrmann and he is returned safely, the shelter or humane society is eligible for the $5,000 as well.
The reward is contingent only on his safe return in any kind of reasonable health.
